Three Ways to the Masterclass in Art
There are countless artists around the world. Perhaps, as Joseph Beuys once said, everyone is an artist. Nevertheless, it is possible and appropriate to distinguish qualities in the field of artistic creation. Not every person who is creatively active has a master class, partly because they are unable to do so and partly because they do not want to. But if you want to achieve a masterclass, you should pay attention to three essential ways to get there.
The First Way: Learn to Do What You Do!
Whatever kind of art you have chosen, be it painting, making music, photography, poetry, etc., it is important to become as good as possible at it. Anyone who rests on their knowledge and skills will be lost in the multitude of artists, as only random things are created and shown, but nothing masterful. It is therefore necessary to master your craft and practise it every day, even if you have already achieved a high level of quality. There is always something new to learn and something old to improve. Last year’s extremely successful painting can be surpassed this year. A successful photograph can be built up better on the next photo trip and the motif can be staged in a more appealing way. The Chopin piece can be played even more impressively in a certain time signature. You never stop learning. If you continue to develop as an artist on a daily basis, you will soon have a master class.
The Second Way: Think Outside the Box!
If you always stick to your own art, you will learn a lot in one area but minimize and stunt your creativity in the long term. To create space for new possibilities, approaches and ideas, you need to look at other types of art. Photography can learn a lot from painting, poetry from music, sculpture from acting. Art forms are different from each other, but in the end they deal with similar things. That’s why it will contribute to gaining a masterclass if you start to look at how certain motifs or ideas are conveyed in poetry or music, even though you yourself are more inclined towards painting.
The Third Way: You Cannot Do it Without Business!
If you want to achieve a Masterclass, you need time. And the necessary time must be secured financially. Therefore, ways and means must be found to achieve basic economic security as an artist. A basic knowledge of business, which requires not only calculations, planning and management, but also to a large extent a distinctive marketing, is of crucial importance for all artists in today’s economic world. Sure, you want to dedicate the whole day to your art and not think about anything else. But at the end of the day, all artists are human beings who need certain necessities such as a roof over their heads, food and security – and ultimately want to be noticed. Without economic knowledge, a masterclass will be denied.
Masterclass. Business & Art
Treading these paths is anything but easy and requires a willingness to learn. But all willingness to learn ends where there is no access to valuable information. Masterclass. Business & Art wants to counteract this and provide valuable information for managers and artists so that all readers can achieve a masterclass in both business and art and so that art can regain quality and status worldwide.
